So yep that’s right, you heard it here first, the 4 P’s that have driven marketing strategy FOREVER are dead and have been replaced with the 4 E’s.
Engagement, Experience, Emotion, Exclusivity are what drive the strategy now – people no longer purchase products they purchase experience and they will pay more for your product if you make them feel a certain way about your brand.
The old saying “people will forget what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel” has never been more relevant.
Take my experience when buying a car versus my experience when buying a house, even though the home I bought was 20 times the amount of the car the experience was awful the car however even 3 years on has been incredible and will result in me being a customer for life.
The retail space has changed with retailers no longer driving the purchase, the customer is now in control and they dictate how they navigate the path to purchase, so it’s a matter of change, adapt or die!!
